2026 Grants in Action
One of the most meaningful parts of Light of Day’s work is putting funds back into organizations and programs that directly support patients, families, education, and research. We are proud to share several recent grants that reflect that commitment.
Parkinson's Foundation — $150,000
Light of Day is proud to support the Parkinson’s Foundation with $150,000 for Parkinson’s education and outreach, including the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Chapter Parkinson’s Symposium and other educational programs such as PD@Home. These programs help people living with Parkinson’s and their care partners better understand symptoms, treatment options, and ways to navigate daily life with the disease.
CurePSP — $75,000
Through a matching gifts appeal, CurePSP and the Light of Day Foundation partnered to raise $75,000 for research and education. These funds help provide essential assistance and advocacy for patients and families dealing with PSP and related diseases, educate physicians to support earlier diagnosis and better care, and advance research to help scientists find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Joan Dancy & PALS Foundation — $35,000
Light of Day awarded a $35,000 grant to Joan Dancy & PALS to help the organization continue providing products and services to ALS patients in Monmouth and Ocean County, New Jersey. Joan Dancy & PALS was founded by longtime Springsteen personal assistant Terry Magovern at the request of his fiancée, Joan Dancy, after she was stricken with ALS. Terry was also an invaluable friend and supporter of Bob Benjamin and the Light of Day Foundation from our inception to Terry's passing.
Queens College — $7,500
Light of Day also awarded $7,500 to Queens College in support of the Parkinson’s Speech and Language Fund. We are honored to help support work that benefits students and strengthens programs that can make a lasting difference.
