The King Sings The Boss short bio
Every fan knows the 1976 story of Elvis not being at home when Bruce Springsteen climbed the wall of Graceland in an attempt to meet The King. Just imagine for a second...what if Elvis *was* at home? What if Bruce actually had the chance to give them a tape of a song for Elvis? Surely that song would have been 'Fire'? The biggest hit Elvis never had.
And what if after hearing 'Fire' Elvis had then explored Bruce's rich back catalog of material and the two became friends? Collaborators, even? Elvis loved covering the music of others. If he were alive today surely he would have covered the music of Bruce Springsteen?
'The King Sings The Boss' performed by top U.K. Elvis tribute Mark A. Wright turns that dream into a reality. Bringing all his dynamism and vocal prowess Mark performs the music of Bruce Springsteen as only The King knows how.
From 'Born To Run' to 'The Rising', 'The King Sings The Boss' imagines a world in which the music of Bruce Springsteen is performed...Elvis style!!!
Mark A. Wright bio:
A singer/songwriter with echoes of Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, Mark A. Wright is one of only two UK artists to appear on the criticality acclaimed album 'Light of Day: A Tribute to Bruce Springsteen' with his version of 'Two Hearts'.
Mark was honoured to be personally invited by folk legend Ramblin' Jack Elliott to open as his support on his last two visits to the United Kingdom and Ireland. Mark was thrilled to Jack onstage for several songs together including an encore of their rousing rendition of Dylan's 'I'll Be Your Baby Tonight'.
His warm and powerful vocals, easy going stage presence and light humour has entertained audiences across the UK, Europe and across the United States from New Jersey to Florida. This will be Mark's first appearance at Light of Day.
