Light of Day beefs up artists' line up for next weekend's concert; Eddie Kowalczyk, front man from Live, Status Green to SloMo and a legion of songwriters join the fight against Parkinson's disease
(January 6, 2010) The Light of Day Foundation, Inc.
(www.lightofday.org) is pleased to announce the full line up for its
10th Anniversary concerts in Asbury Park, New Jersey, to be held Friday,
Jan. 15, Saturday, Jan. 16 and Sunday, Jan. 17.
The concerts will aid the ongoing fight against Parkinson’s disease
by supporting research into more effective treatments and a cure as well
as supporting people who suffer from the degenerative neurological
disorder.
Eddie Kowalczyk, widely known as the lead singer, frontman and
guitarist for the band Live, will headline Saturday’s concert at the
historic Paramount Theatre, located in Asbury Park’s Convention Hall
complex. Kowalczyk has built an impressive rèsumè with his bandmates
that includes eight full-length albums, total CD sales exceeding 20
million, a huge international fan base and extensive touring all over
the world. Live has been one of the most successful and enduring
alternative rock bands of the 1990s and 2000s.
The other artists previously announced as playing on the band stage
are Jesse Malin,
Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan, Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers and Willie
Nile.
Also, Asbury wunderkinds Outside The Box will make their Light of Day
debut.
There will be a special appearance by comic daredevil Bello Nock along
with several
acoustic performances.
The Friday, January 15th show will be at the world-famous Stone Pony,
the oceanfront
night club where Light of Day was launched 10 years ago.
On Sunday, January 17th, there will be three songwriter's circles in
intimate cafè settings on the Boardwalk in Asbury Park.
On Saturday afternoon, the Wonder Bar will have a special warm-up show
for the
Paramount show. Hosted by WRXP 101.9’s Rich Russo, who hosts the free
form radio
show “Anything Anything” from 9 to 11 p.m. Sunday nights on the station,
the matinee
show will feature two performers hand-picked by Russo, Matt Koziol and
Someone Say
Something. Also slated to perform are two Canadian bands, two NY/NJ area
bands and
a handful of acoustic singer-songwriters including Sarah Solovay,
another "Anything, Anything"
favorite.
Friday night’s show will feature inaugural Light of Day sets from Status
Green, SloMo,
the Tangiers Blues Band featuring Danny Clinch, The Reveling, The Sunday
Blues, Sikamor
Rooney and The I Drive.
Light of Day mainstays the Bob Burger Band, Boccigalupe and The Badboys,

stage.
There will be a full slate of solo acoustic performances on a second
stage.
There will be three special editions of “Songwriters by the Sea” on
Sunday afternoon.
McLoone’s Supper Club, the Langosta Lounge and the Watermark will host
twenty
songwriters split into three performances at 12 noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
